A rare and interesting French XVIII century spinning wheel made in ebony wood, ivory,metal and velvet. Condition : minor damage and the velvet is later. Sizes: H 30 x L 54 x D 18,3 cm .

This spinning wheel must have been made in revolutionary period in France since it has the portrait of L XVI sculptured in ivory. The portrait is difficult to see only if you pay attention to it. The royal family was not well seen at that period in France . A lot of images were hidden, therefore the owner must have been a royalist .
